Welcome to Donna D. Berger's Website
I have enjoyed advocating on behalf of all types of common interest
ownership communities for the past fifteen (15) years. Despite being
bound by the common constraints of the Florida Statutes and
Administrative Code, each community is unique and should be given the
latitude, within reason, to determine for itself what works best for
their members.
In addition to being a partner in a law firm that devotes its practice
entirely to the representation of community associations, I am a
registered lobbyist and have testified before the Florida House of
Representatives and the Florida Senate regarding bills that impact
members of common interest ownership communities. Often, well meaning
legislation falls short of the relief promised because the unique nature
of each community is not considered.
Whatever community you call home, please take time to attend meetings,
ask questions, take advantage of all the educational material out there
and serve your time on the board.
